Kurzbeschreibung
(Englisch)
Ambient-Noise Tomography (ANT) is a passive seismic imaging technique that does not require any active source. With the recent development of portable and cost-efficient seismic stations, the deployment of dense seismic networks shows great po-tential to retrieve high-resolution subsurface models at low costs. Shear-wave velocity models are particularly sensitive to fluid-rich and fractured rock structures, making ANT very promising for geothermal exploration. We propose to test and develop the method in a geothermal context, with an application to the site of Riehen, and to evaluate its added value with respect to con-ventional exploration techniques.
