Der Zweck der Kooperationsstrategie für Mali lautet: "Die Schweiz unterstützt Interventionen für eine nachhaltige und ausgewogene Entwicklung und eine bessere Beteiligung der Bevölkerung an politischen Prozessen, damit diese ihre Lebensbedingungen in einer Situation des sozialen Zusammenhalts und des Friedens verbessern kann". Die Schweizer Kooperationsstrategie für Mali 2017-2020 (CS Mali) wurde offiziell bis 2021 verlängert.
Die Schweiz engagiert sich in drei Bereichen der Zusammenarbeit, nämlich ländliche Entwicklung und Ernährungssicherheit, Bildung und Berufsbildung sowie Gouvernanz und Frieden wie in der bisherigen Strategie. Eine Reihe von Regionalprogrammen wird in eben diesen Gebieten nach und nach ausgeweitet. Innerhalb dieser Bereiche werden die Instrumente der Friedensförderung (Abteilung Menschliche Sicherheit AMS), der humanitären Hilfe und der Entwicklung kombiniert. Die humanitäre Hilfe spielt eine relativ wichtige und wachsende Rolle und macht etwa 20% der jährlichen Kosten der CS aus. Das konzeptionelle und finanzielle Engagement der Abteilung Menschliche Sicherheit des EDA zeigt sich in der Anwesenheit eines Beraters für menschliche Sicherheit in Bamako und in der Entsendung eines zweiten Experten in die EUCAP (European Union External Action).

The purpose of the Cooperation Strategy for Mali states: "Switzerland supports interventions for sustainable and balanced development and better participation of the population in political processes, thus enabling them to improve their living conditions in a situation of social cohesion and peace".
The Swiss Cooperation Strategy for Mali 2017-2020 (CS Mali) has been officially extended until 2021. Switzerland is engaged in three areas of cooperation, namely rural development and food security, education and vocational training (VET) and governance and peace (GP) as in the previous strategy. A series of regional programmes is gradually being expanded in these same areas. Within these areas the instruments of peace promotion (Human Security Division HSD), humanitarian aid and development are combined. Humanitarian Aid plays a relatively important and growing role, accounting for about 20% of the annual costs of CS. The conceptual and financial commitment of the FDFA's Human Security Division is reflected in the presence of a human security advisor in Bamako and the dispatch of a second expert to EUCAP (European Union External Action).

La finalité de la Stratégie de coopération au Mali stipule : « La Suisse soutient des interventions pour un développement durable et équilibré et une meilleure participation de la population aux processus politiques lui permettant ainsi d'améliorer ses conditions de vie dans une situation de cohésion sociale et de paix ». La Stratégie de coopération suisse au Mali 2017–2020 (SC Mali) a été officiellement prolongée jusqu’à 2021.
La Suisse est engagée dans trois domaines de coopération, à savoir le développement rural et la sécurité alimentaire (DRSA), l’éducation et la formation professionnelle (EFP) et la gouvernance et paix (GP) comme lors de la stratégie précédente. Une série de programmes régionaux prend progressivement de l’ampleur dans ces mêmes domaines. Dans le cadre de ces domaines les instruments de la promotion de la paix (Division Sécurité humaine DSH), de l’aide humanitaire et du développement sont combinés. L’Aide humanitaire joue un rôle relativement important et croissant, avec environ 20% des coûts annuels de la SC. L’engament conceptuel et financier de la DSH du DFAE se traduit par la présence d’un conseiller en sécurité humaine à Bamako et l’envoi d’un second expert au sein de la EUCAP (European Union External Action).

Scopo della Strategia di cooperazione per gli Stati del Mali: "La Svizzera sostiene gli interventi a favore di uno sviluppo sostenibile ed equilibrato e di una migliore partecipazione della popolazione ai processi politici, consentendo così di migliorare le condizioni di vita in una situazione di coesione sociale e di pace".
La Strategia di cooperazione svizzera per il Mali 2017-2020 (SC Mali) è stata ufficialmente prorogata fino al 2021. La Svizzera è impegnata, come nella strategia precedente, in tre settori di cooperazione: sviluppo rurale e sicurezza alimentare (DRSA), istruzione e formazione professionale (IFP) e governance e pace (GP). In questi stessi settori si stanno gradualmente ampliando una serie di programmi regionali. All'interno di questi settori si combinano gli strumenti di promozione della pace (Divisione Sicurezza umana DSH), l'aiuto umanitario e lo sviluppo. L'Aiuto Umanitario svolge un ruolo relativamente importante e crescente, rappresentando circa il 20% dei costi annuali della CS. L'impegno concettuale e finanziario della Divisione Sicurezza umana del DFAE si riflette nella presenza di un consulente per la sicurezza umana a Bamako e nell'invio di un secondo esperto all'EUCAP (European Union External Action).
