The Nature Conservation Programme (NCP) in Macedonia started in 2012 with a first 4 years phase which will be finished by the end of 2016; it pursues the following goal:“The main stakeholders on national, regional and local level effectively conserve the natural resources of the Bregalnica Region, integrating up to date conservation approaches with the principles of sustainable natural resources management and the local economic development agendaThe contract for the execution of the programme was attributed to Hevetas Swiss Intercooperation, with Pharmahem as main executing partner in Macedonia.The implementing partners expressed their wish to have an external view on the achievements of the phase in order to confirm, respectively to modify the objectives and actions foreseen for the 2nd phase. SDC agreed with this request and designated a Swiss expert to make an evaluation and to prepare recommendations in view of the 2nd phase. The present report is the result of the evaluation mission.
