The VSP phase III was reviewed with the following objectives:1. Impact assessment: to report on project achievements (both intended and unintended impacts, and best practices and learning 2. Way forward: to reveal the link between the results of VSP phase III and upcoming programmes and suggest recommendations for development of vegetable and seed sub-sector in NepalThe review findings are summarized below:1. Average annual income per household in 2013 from vegetable seeds increased by 45%, 2. Availability of diverse fresh vegetables. Vegetable self-sufficient households increased from 9% (2011) to 47 % (2013) and decrease in cereal consumption (10-15%) as vegetable consumption increased (almost doubled), 3. Formation of 41 cooperatives representing 599 farmers groups, and their central union ‘Seed Producers’ Central Federation of Cooperatives (SPCFC) Ltd. which helped for bulking-up and thereby less transaction costs, 4.Out of total domestic supply of 1000 MT seeds, VSP contributed with 269 MT, which is 13.79%,5. contributed to policy for Decentralized Source Seed Production Directive, Seed Vision-2013-2025 and Amendment of Seed Regulation (2013) and the seed policy reform
