The SSMP phase IV was reviewed with the following objectives:1. Capitalisation of impact level achievements, best practices and learning2. Way forward and input for new orientation of institutionalizing and strengthening public agricultural servicesThe review findings are summarized below:1. relevance to local priorities: The programme is extremely relevant to the national priorities of achieving food security and inclusive development, fully aligned with LGCDP of MoFALD – institutional structure, technical approach and extension delivery mechanism (Farmer to Farmer) aligned with priorities of MoAD,2. Beneficiaries: Range of smallholders farmers: Subsistence to semi-commercial, 3. The programme has been effective in developing linkages to input services and markets,4. The programme has been effective in developing a demand driven system that has been widely promoted and adopted and that provides opportunities for strengthening demand drive of the services,5. Agriculture Forestry Environment Committees (AFECs) are established and have started working as per the targets – and on many places beyond the target,6. The programme has been effective in promoting women’s participation in terms of numbers in the groups, training of Experienced Leader Farmers and including women in the AFECs – 7. The programme has made a strong effort to include Disadvantaged Groups in programme interventions. This means that by numbers in groups and AFECs they are present
