The Institutional Assessment of Strategic Institutions in the Skills Development Sector in Bangladesh was commissioned by the Swiss Cooperation Office/Swiss Embassy in Dhaka on in consultation with other development partners and conducted by a team of international and Bangladeshi experts in autumn 2013.The study assesses the relevance, capacities and sustainability of the National Skills Development Council, the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, the Bureau for Non-Formal Education, and various Industry Skills Councils against the background of the current challenges and opportunities in the field of technical vocational and educational training in Bangladesh. The study also provides observations regarding the institutions’ roles and responsibilities and recommendations for international development partners for engagement with the institutions.
