The Water and Sanitation Program (WSP) is a partnership supported by about 15 donors agencies multi-donor partnership administered by the World Bank to support poor people in obtaining affordable, safe and sustainable access to water and sanitation services. It work directly with client governments at the local and national level in 25 countries through regional offices in Africa, East and South Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and in, Washington D.C. WSP has led or supported many of the advances made within the water and sanitation sector over the last three decades. It shares best practices across regions and places a strong focus on capacity-building by forming partnerships with academia, civil society organizations, donors, governments, media, private sector, and others. Its work helps to effect the regulatory and structural changes needed for broad water and sanitation sector reform.WSP has been launched 25+ years ago by a visionary Swiss manager in the world bank as a decentralised program managed by the WB but under the guidance of a Council in which SDC is part of it. The strategies, annual, plans and obtained results ,are appreciated by the council. The orientation are given through this mechanism and also through our exchanges in the field..The external evaluation has been in depp discussed in the council.
