China and Switzerland initiated negotiations on a bilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in April 2011. Such an agreement would be accompanied by a diverse set of implications for the environment, through different impact routes – ranging from increasing trade volumes to possible changes in the composition of production and trade in the two countries.
