SODA – Solar data analytics for production forecasting and anomaly detection

Short description (English)

The SODA project aims at demonstrating the applicability of big-data analytics to forecast the power generation of distributed photovoltaic systems and to identify technical issues on these systems. PV production data from commercial monitoring sys-tems will feed advanced machine learning algorithms. The main scientific challenge will be to make the forecasting algorithms robust against unavoidable faults or gaps in data and to quantify their performance in a reliable way.

Le projet SODA vise à démontrer l’applicabilité du traitement de données massives à la prévision de la production d’électricité et à l’identification de problèmes techniques des systèmes photovoltaïques distribuées. Des mesures de production provenant de systèmes commerciaux alimenteront des algorithmes d’apprentissage automatique. Les principaux défis scientifiques sont de rendre ces algorithmes robustes vis-à-vis des inévitables problèmes de qualité de données et de quantifier leur performance.
