Automatisiertes und vernetztes Fahren hat das Potential, unsere zukünftige Mobilität radikal zu verändern. Durch Aspekte wie das veränderte Fahrerlebnis, höhere Kapazitäten oder die Erschliessung neuer Nutzergruppen ist zu erwarten, dass diese Technologie die räumliche Entwicklung der Schweiz beeinflussen könnte. Ziel des Projektes ist es, potentielle räumliche Auswirkungen des automatisierten und vernetzten Fahrens zu eruieren, um Handlungsempfehlungen zur Durchsetzung der raumplanerischen Ziele zu entwickeln. Dazu soll erstmals identifiziert werden, welche Angebots- und Nutzungsformen wesentliche räumliche Auswirkungen verursachen und für welchen Teil der Bevölkerung solche Angebotsformen relevant sein könnten. Dabei soll sowohl der Pendler- als auch der Freizeitverkehr berücksichtigt werden. Ein Katalog der wichtigsten politischen Massnahmen und verkehrstechnischen Lösungen wird dann aufweisen, wie räumliche Effekte beeinflusst werden können. Zuletzt soll eine Stakeholder-Charakterisierung Interessenskonflikte und Kooperationsbedarf auf der Raum- und Verkehrsebene aufzeigen. Die zu erwartenden Ergebnisse sind relevant für Raum-, Verkehrs- und Regionalplanung sowie für Stakeholder aus verschiedenen Bereichen von Verkehr und Mobilität. Nicht zuletzt sind sie gesellschaftlich relevant, da sie als Diskussionsgrundlage über eine gewünschte Entwicklung des automatisierten Fahrens unter Berücksichtigung ihrer Bedeutung für die Schweizer Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft fungieren.

Automated driving has the potential to radically change the future of mobility. Aspects such as the new driving experience, the possibility of increasing road capacity or the inclusion of new user groups may influence Switzerland’s spatial development. The aim of this project is to evaluate potential spatial impacts of automated driving in order to develop recommendations which can facilitate the achievement of Switzerland’s spatial development goals. For this purpose, it will first be identified which concepts and use forms of automated driving can cause significant spatial impacts and for which part of the population such forms could be relevant. The analysis will consider commuter as well as recreational traffic. A catalogue of the most important political measures and transport solutions will then summarise how spatial impacts can be influenced. Finally, a stakeholder characterisation will identify conflicts of interest and needs for cooperation at the spatial and transport level. The expected results are relevant for spatial, transport and regional planning as well as for stakeholders from different areas of transport and mobility. Last but not least, they are relevant for society as a basis for discussion on the desired development of automated driving, taking into account its significance for Switzerland's economic and social development.

2)Definition räumlich differenzierte Nutzertypen zur Abschätzung regional differenzierter Nachfrageentwicklung von automatisierten Fahren;
3)Analyse potentieller Raumeffekte im Hinblick auf Freizeitverkehr und automatisiertes Fahren;
4)Katalog der wichtigsten politischen Massnahmen und verkehrstechnischen Lösungen zur Durchsetzung mit der Raumplanung konsistenter räumlicher Entwicklung;
5)Identifikation von Stakeholdern, Interessenskonflikten und Kooperationsbedarf auf raumplanerischer und Verkehrssystemebene;

1) Analysis of spatial impacts of different automated driving concepts and use forms and estimation of the proportion of potential users;
2) Definition of spatially differentiated user types to estimate regionally differentiated demand development of automated driving;
3) Analysis of potential spatial impacts in relation to recreational traffic and automated driving;
4) Catalogue of the key policy measures and transport solutions for enforcing spatial development consistent with agreed targets;
5) Identification of stakeholders, conflicts of interest and needs for cooperation at spatial development and transport system level;
