SECO through its division ‘Economic Cooperation and Development’ is running some 300 programs and projects in countries in the South and East. This evaluation aims to investigate the challenges related to the improvement of the sustainability in its own programs and projects. Apart from the analysis of its own portfolio, SECO would also like to better understand, how other organizations define and assess ‘project sustainability’ (OECD DAC definition vs. broader notion of sustainable development); preform on sustainability issues and where other donor’s are having the most significant challenges in regard to project implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
