Ammonia has a key role in the pathogenesis of hepatic encephalopathy (HE). A fast, robust, and sensitive ammonia assay may allow an early diagnosis of HE and avoid a fatal outcome. This project confirms the feasibility of a novel clinical test for measuring ammonia.
