Ziel des Projekts ist, Wandwärmeübertragungsprozesse bei der ottomotorischen Verbrennung im Detail zu analysieren, in verbesserten mathematischen Modellen zu beschreiben und skalen- sowie zeitaufgelöst numerisch zu simulieren.

The project aims at enhancing the understanding of wall heat transfer processes from the bulk flow to the walls in Otto engines. Direct numerical simulations will be performed to study near wall processes and characterize the evolution of the wall temperature/heat transfer. The findings will be used to validate wall models, investigate resolution requirements and improve the characterization of flame-wall interactions.
