In collaboration with the FHNW School of Engineering Brugg-Windisch the new plastic piece More-clean was defined, developed and tested.
The aim of the More-clean is the reduction of dirt by a correction of the situation at the lower frame.
The More-clean was mounted at the lower frame of a part of modules on the two PV-installations at the fairy-hall Lucerne and the building Sidhalden in Kriens. From Mars 2018 until April 2019 the effect of the More-clean was collected visually and by measurement of the produced energy.
The modules with 5° inclination didn’t show a difference of the pollution whether More-clean mounted or not. That is because the very rare rains in the last months didn’t wash the region at the lower frame as estimated. The pollution remained there and grew.
The modules with 20° inclination showed a difference of the pollution. Without More-clean there is a faster growing amount of dirt at the lower frame, but the pollution yet didn’t reach the cells, what resulted in no significant difference of the measured energy.
The control of the PV-installations with More-clean will go on and a further test-installation with an inclination of 10° will be observed.
