The aim of the project EXTEND is to enhance the spatial perception of sounds rendered by hearing aids. In order to achieve this, new audio signal processing algorithms will be developed, aiming at enhancing the perception of: a) Externalized sound sources, b) Naturalness of sound. Goal of this project is to develop new features for the next generation of hearing aids comprising of superior qualities, with respect to spatial sound perception.
