Chlorine Retaining Membrane for Oxygen Sensing
Abstract
(German)
In breweries, optical sensors for dissolved oxygen play a key role in ensuring good product quality. They offer stable, fast and accurate measurement, require little maintenance and are reasonably priced. However, they are of limited use if chlorine is present in tap water used for brewing, which is not uncommon in many countries. Chlorine chemically degrades the oxygen-sensitive layer. In this cooperation, a protective layer containing chlorine scavengers will be developed.
