This project aims at developing a compact, cost-effective, high-performance, embedded optical imaging platform capable of performing automated microscopic analysis of biological and non-biological samples and suited for a wide range of applications in clinical diagnostics, life science and nanoscience research. Point-ofcare malaria diagnostics in low-resource settings is chosen as a particular application to showcase the capabilities of the proposed imaging platform.
