T-2017-028 Assistive device for the diagnostics and the treatment of fibrosis

Abstract (German)

Fibrosis is a severe disease characterised by tissue stiffening. The choice of an anti-fibrotic therapy remains difficult, as patients# response vary between individuals. The goal of this project is to develop an assistive device able to monitor the tissue stiffness and to identify the best treatment option for each patient. The stiffness of the fibrotic tissue # obtained from biopsies # will be detected optically by measuring the load-deflection curve of the tissue attached to a thin membrane.
