Abstract
(German)
During robotic cochlear implantation, stimulating the nerve and measuring the muscular response allows to detect if the drill path lies within facial nerve distances below 0.1 mm. In the current approach the robot retracts to allow maual placement of the stimulating probe, which reduces spatial resolution. In this project we will investigate whether nerve stimulation integrated in a surgical drill enables accurate localization of the facial nerve synchronously during the drilling process.
