The goal of this project is to develop a novel actuating tool to precisely structure hydrogel layers in a high-density micro well format for 3D cell culture in a 48- and 96-well multiwall plate format. And to interface this micro-structuring mechanism with liquid handling to create a semi-automatic fabrication system. This will be verified and characterized with quality control systems so that, at the end of this project, it is capable of producing a prototype device.
