This project aims to develop a wearable sensor platform for remote monitoring of chronic wounds. We propose to exploit optical fibers as flexible and low-cost sensing platforms to continuously measure pH values in wounds as an indicator of the healing status. Based on the TecIntex and Flusitex projects, the research will focus on the development of the chemical part of the sensor for its integration into the portable device, opening new perspective for telemedicine in chronic wound management.
