Modeling of NOx & Soot formation and radiation in large 2-stroke marine diesel engines

Abstract (Deutsch)

Development of predictive CFD models, which can be applied in the 2-stroke marine diesel engine development process to calculate NOx and soot emissions. Especially the influence of soot formation and radiation on the NOx emission and heat transfer should be investigated and implemented into the models. The new models will be validated versus experimental data of an optical accessible spray and combustion chamber and vs. emission measurements of engines.
