Development of a compact picosecond fiberlaser system that delivers intrinsically synchronized multicolor picosecond pulse trains in the visible and also the near infrared. First, we generate picosecond pulses in the infrared. Secondly, this original pulse-train is replicated at longer wavelengths by cascaded Raman-scattering at several discrete wavelengths in the infrared. Thirdly, each of this sub-set is then frequency doubled or tripled to the visible.
