High precision segmentation of the knee articulation

Abstract (German)

This project aims to replace the current manual process of high precision 2D delineation of 3D articular bone surfaces by a new semi automatic approach based on statistical data, complemented by new interactive 3D editing tools when needed. This will significantly speed up and decrease the cost of producing patient specific implants systems. This is essential to allow substantial growth for these products and supply the increasing demand at a competitive price.
