Abstract

Successful application of medical ultrasound requires substantial training. We have recently established Monte-Carlo rendering as the state-of-the-art in model-based ultrasound simulation. We also demonstrated pre-acquired image volumes to provide excellent realism, for targeted applications in OB/GYN. Herein, we aim to combine these two techniques to leverage the benefits of both, while developing a generic content generation framework in order to streamline extensions of our training technology to a wide range of ultrasound applications.
