Lock-in amplifiers are ideal instruments to measure dynamic impedance changes at very high sensitivity, but they lack the capability of traditional impedance analysers to measure impedance at high accuracy. ZI will - with the support of METAS - develop a novel instrument based on a lock-in amplifier that is capable of measuring impedances at unprecedented sensitivity and accuracy. The instrument will enable BSSE to implement a method to analyse 3D microtissues beyond what optical methods can provide.
