Identification of tumor antigens in cancer patients by a novel technology

Abstract (German)

Vaccination against cancer is a promising therapeutic approach. Unfortunately, tumor antigens recognized by the immune system remain largely unknown. We have established a novel technology that allows fast and effective identification of such antigens recognized by tumor infiltrating T cells of individual patients. This knowledge provides the basis for development of efficient personalized cancer vaccines. We have verified our technology in various mouse models. With this project we will make the first step towards taking in to the clinics.
