This project is a feasibility study on the use of ionic liquids in plastics. Specifically the aim is to create a shortlist of candidate ionic liquids that are ideally suited to integrate into the polymer matrix of plastic components. Plastics with integrated ionic liquids are expected to have self-lubricating properties. The main focus of this project is applications in the automotive industry.
