Passive Cooling System for Traction Transformer

Abstract (German)

The aim of the project is to develop, investigate, test and validate the possibility to use passive cooling methods to cool the onboard transformer. New generation of traction transformer developped at ABB Sécheron, called Effilight, allows significant loss reduction making new cooling methods possible at power levels not achievable to this day.
