A new technology platform based on eddy-current testing for the analysis and visualization of steel elements embedded into reinforced concrete structures is developed. It beneficially combines an accurate electromagnetic simulation modeling approach, a novel approach for direct 3D spatial resolution, and an alternative eddy-current sensing technique. A significant leap in performance with respect to current state-of-the-art of the instruments is expected.
