Swiss hydropower production is endogenous, renewable and partially storable. This project aims at improving its climate and market resilience, as well as eco-compliance. New tools and methodologies are proposed for design and operation of flexible hydropower schemes. Flexibility of storage plants is addressed in terms of production scheduling and sediment management. KWO's case study is replicable in other hydropower portfolios.
