Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Allemand)
During surgical drilling, e.g., for cochlear implants, nerves can be damaged. The goal of this project is to research, develop, optimize and characterize a system that combines a surgical drilling device and an electrical nerve stimulation probe. This allows surgeons to continuously monitor nerves while drilling with up to 80000 rpm without changing tools. This leads to improved safety for patients, more confidence for surgeons, and savings of time and costs.
