Abstract (Deutsch)

The goal is the establishing of an innovative, more economical manufacturing process of curved wooden beams and shells for architectural and constructional applications. Hereby the shape changes are programmed into the wooden parts and manifest themselves during kiln drying exploiting the innate capacity of wood to expand and shrink. With this process, the production of wooden components with higher levels of curvature and complexity will become economically feasible.
