Abstract

Drying, pre-heating and aroma formation phases of a roasting cycle are currently all conducted in one single instrument. The aim of the project is to develop a novel conditioning technology that is separate and uptream from the high temperature roasting. This will allow adjusting precisely and reproducibly the moisture content and temperature of green beans. The benefits are increased batch-to-batch product consistency and reduced energy consumption and emissions.
