The increasing request for high data rates leads to the decrease of the detecting area of high-speed photodiodes. This project aims to establish the wafer-scale integration of microlenses on top of the photodiodes, as well as to develop new high-refractive index microlenses to focus light on very small spots. This will enable new devices with higher data rates and easier optical alignment. With this new technology platform, Albis will be able to create a new market growing from a small to a medium size enterprise and creating jobs throughout the whole value chain.
