The aim of this feasibility study is to investigate a novel concept of an all-in-one medical x-ray detector that can provide high-quality real-time embedded image processing while also drastically reducing cost and improving reliability. An implementation of a matrix of tiled CMOS cameras and computing units will be investigated in order to acquire and process images of the exposed area.This new type of detector is suited for emerging market and advanced video applications.
