High Capacity Carbon-Based Composite Anode Active Materials for Lithium-Ion Battery Electrodes
Abstract
(German)
This project is dedicated to the development of a new generation of anode active materials for Lithium-ion batteries conceptually different from graphite, which presently dominates the rechargeable battery market. The key R&D target is to increase the capacity of materials for negative electrodes by stabilizing Si or Sn in a flexible carbon matrix, leading to a capacity of >500 mAh/g without sacrificing safety, cycling stability and cycle life of the cells.
