QCLs are the best light sources covering the full MIR range for spectroscopic applications, and Alpes Lasers SA is their world leading manufacturer. Conventional DFB-QCLs have a narrow tuning range, primarily suited for the detection of small molecules. Recently, Alpes Lasers has developed novel, widely tuneable QCLs. This project will demonstrate their commercial power, facilitate industrial implementation and create economic opportunities for this disruptive technology.
