R and D project : INTEGRATION OF OPTICAL GUIDANCE MECHANISM IN COCHLEAR IMPLANTS
Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Allemand)
We propose to develop a a prototype of a flexible microendoscope based on a waveguide bundle fabricated in polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) elastomer and peripheral imaging electronics, which is to be integrated with a regular cochlear implant electrode array. The endoscope provides a visual feedback to the surgeon who performs the implant surgery such that collateral damages to the sensorineural cells are minimized and residual hearing capability is optimally preserved.
