Pill Protect®: health-economic performance characteristics and implications for health care financing

Abstract (German)

Pill Protect® is combination of a novel genetic test and proprietary algorithm to estimate the risk of thrombosis in women using oral contraception. Test characteristics are superior to the actual standard of care. Health economic data, in particular cost-effectiveness, are required to position the product on the Swiss market and achieve reimbursement by major payers abroad. We aim to establish a high quality health economic modelling framework and generate the required data.
