Abstract (German)

Ever tighter operating conditions create severe challenges for SWISS flight network operations. Complexity can no longer be mastered by human judgment, and SWISS top management recognized strong need for decision support from intelligent software. A profound model-based flight network simulation tool will be developed, assisting strategic flight schedule design and daily operational decisions. Evaluation of scenarios yields optimized decisions with increased operational performance, higher profitability, and reduced environmental emissions.
