In this project, we will develop a stable procedure to fabricate a telecom-suited optical coupler on glass with an innovative ultrafast laser manufacturing technique with sub-micron resolution. The need is to meet constantly increasing demands for high-rate high-capacity data transfer and therefore new connecting principles to interface silicon photonic devices with glass optical fibers have to be found.
