A greener natural feed supplement for more sustainable animal farming

Abstract (Deutsch)

This project aims to improve the intestinal microflora of carnivorous and herbivorous farmed fish in favor of better plant-feed digestion, enhanced natural immunity and reduced pollution. Switching the diet of farmed animals to lower trophic level feeds (high in plant and low in animal protein sources) presents a scientific challenge that we propose to solve using an interdisciplinary team with expertise in pharmacy, fish nutrition, immunology and bio-informatics.
