The goal of the project is to braze innovative Ti6Al4V-bronze bimetal bearings with high anti-friction performance at light weight. The joint tensile strength should be at least 200 MPa and the impact resistance 2.5 J.cm-2. The specific experience of Kugler Bimetal in production of steel-bronze bimetals will be combined with the know-how of Empa in joining process development and interface control to provide a solution.
