The project will develop and qualify a fiber optic inclinometer / tiltmeter sensor, based on MEMS technology and compatible with SMARTEC readout units and software. The sensor will be more compact and produced at a lower cost, as compared to present fiber optic tilt sensors, while offering similar technical performance of sensors based on electrical sensing. This sensor will complete SMARTEC's offer of sensors for Structural Health Monitoring.
