Autoinflammatory diseases (AIDs) arise from the abnormal activation of the innate immune system and are characterized by recurrent febrile episodes, systemic inflammation triggered by unoticed pro-inflammatory signals. IL-1, IL-18 and Type I and II IFN are the major cytokines driving the clinical manifestations. The aim of this project is the identification of IL-18 driven AID for the implementation of specific treatments.
