Generation of recombinant antibodies against the calcium binding protein calretinin

Abstract (German)

The aim is to produce recombinant antibodies against the calcium-binding protein calretinin, an established marker for asbestos-induced mesotheliomas, highly aggressive tumors formed by the cells covering the lung surface. We expect to generate a standardized tool that will enhance the reproducibility in the diagnosis of this cancer. This would be the first recombinant antibody against Calr available worldwide and could be commercialized by Swant.
