1Drop Diagnostics develops cutting-edge microfluidic chips for multiplex analysis of biomarkers. Necessary design iterations are both time-consuming and expensive with electroformed mold inserts, an experience shared by Weidmann Medical Technology AG. Thus, three innovative technologies for rapid and cost-efficient manufacturing of prototype molds, i.e. polymeric mold inserts, laser ablation + polishing, and glassy carbon will be developed to boost development efficiency.
