Allosteric modulators of TrkB, a neuroprotective receptor: advancing compounds towards clinical candidate phase

Abstract (German)

Addex has identified novel small molecules, which are positive allosteric modulators of the neuroprotective receptor TrkB. These compounds, which have a major potential for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Huntington¿s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) will be profiled in unique assays developed by the Krause group at University of Geneva. The results obtained will enable the prioritization of compounds for later stages of preclinical development.
