Failure rates in drug development are unsustainably high and are most often attributed to poor performance of|a lead compound regarding safety and/or efficacy. Improving the predictive power of preclinical stage in vitro|tests for new drug safety and efficacy is key to reducing attrition. CellSpring¿s 3D Bloom microtissue platform|has shown promise for achieving these goals. This CTI project will enable the development and validation of|3D microtissue models for preclinical drug safety, preclinical efficacy testing for novel chemotherapeutics, and|automated handling for high throughput applications.
